Swirl & Scratch Removal for Cars, Trucks and SUVs
If you've ever looked at your car in the sun and seen a web of fine scratches, those are swirl marks. Around here they mostly come from automatic car washes, dirty wash mitts and towels, and wiping off salt and grime with whatever is handy.
Paint correction is how we remove them. We machine-polish the paint panel by panel, taking off a very thin layer of clear coat to level out swirls, light scratches, water spots and haze. Most of that can be removed completely. Deeper scratches that go through the clear coat can usually be improved but not fully erased, because cutting any further would thin the clear coat too much. We'll inspect your paint first and tell you what's realistic before we start.
Correction fixes what's there now, but it doesn't keep new swirls from forming. A trip through an automatic wash or a dry wipe with a rag will put them right back, so how long the results last depends mostly on how the car is washed afterward.

Gtechniq Ceramic Coatings for Syracuse & Central NY
Once the paint is corrected, we protect it with a Gtechniq ceramic coating. We're a Gtechniq Accredited Detailer, trained and approved to install their professional-only coatings.
We offer three. Crystal Serum Ultra is our best and longest-lasting, Crystal Serum Light gives strong protection for less, and EXOv5 adds maximum water beading, either on its own or on top of either Serum.
A coating makes your paint glossier and very slick, so salt, road grime, bug guts and bird droppings don't stick as well, and washing is much easier. It won't stop scratches, rock chips or door dings, and it can still be swirled by bad washing. We'll always be straight with you about that.

Every job starts with a look at your paint. We'll tell you what we see, what can and can't be corrected, what we'd recommend, and what it'll cost before any work starts. Some cars need a full multi-step correction. Others only need a light polish before coating. If yours is the second kind, that's what we'll tell you.

It removes most swirls, light scratches and water spots. Deeper scratches can usually be made much less noticeable, but if a scratch has gone through the clear coat, it can't be polished out safely. We'll point those out before we start.

Almost always. A coating seals in whatever is underneath it, swirls included, so we polish first. Even new cars often have marks from dealer prep and washing.

For most people, yes. A coated car doesn't hold onto salt and road grime the way bare paint does, so it's much easier to keep clean from November to April. If you want it done before the salt trucks come out, book early.
